| Targons |
Targons - a race of intelligent robots that was initially created by the Forerunners.
The robots, being left alone after their masters disappeared, were determined to resurrect
the lapsed power of the Forerunners even in their absence. As with everything made by the
Forerunners, the Targons are practically indestructible and are capable of self-reproduction.
The software encrypted in robots is capable of self-learning and even has a sign of personality.
The Targons` society is based on the principle of distributed neuron network. This network hasn`t
a certain control center, all its elements are unified and replaceable; however, each Targon has
a specific individuality and distinct activity specialization. There is a supposition that during
keeping their individuality the robots are simultaneously trying to associate themselves as
personalities. And they are waiting for millions of years and are preparing for the return of
their masters. Physically the robots are distinguished by a wide variety of form and design.
A part of them are equipped with antigravity engines. Regardless of their specialization all
the robots are equipped with weapons and armor, but these functions definitely haven`t been
designed by their masters in the first place. The Targons are openly hostile to the rest of
intelligent forms of life and all the attempts to contact with them didnt give any results yet.
The Targons are using all the known technologies of the Forerunners. In addition, a part of
their military technologies are completely strange to other races. The Targons` ships are
perfectly armed and protected and they never retreat from the battle field. There are known
cases when Targon ships captured fleets directly in the hyperspace. Targons can live in almost
any conditions, but it is well known that they are not inclined to colonizing planets and prefer
to stay in the metropolis.
